Another Sad Goodbye

It is another sad day in the Lorkowski household.  Today we must say goodbye to Grandpa Ron.  He was diagnosed in December 2008 with stage 3 Lung Cancer and lost his battle earlier this morning.  We all really hoped he had more time but we have to believe that God has a plan for us all.

For Christmas Sammie & I gave Kirk a plane ticket so he would be able to go to Las Vegas to see his Dad.  He and his 3 siblings were able to go spend a great week with Ron & Kate in January.  They hung out and goofed around and just enjoyed being together.  He will be forever grateful to have that week with his family.

As with all parents Kirk has his good memories and his bad but one thing is certain he will eternally be grateful to the man who gave him life and made him the man he is today.

We will all be sad for awhile but the memories we each have of "Big Guy" will live on forever in each of our hearts!

Goodbye Ron, thank you for giving us all that you have.

Happy Valentine's Day!

We don't usually do too much for Valentine's Day, we have never really celebrated it and we usually only get the kids a small candy item. Since the last few months have been so difficult on the kids I thought this year needed to be different and they deserved a little more.

After we spent most of the day just hanging out together and playing Wii I thought it was time I gave them their Valentines. They were all so surprised when I walked out with red & white gift bags for each of them. They all thought the cookie cake was it...Riley got a Mickey Mouse Clubhouse game set with checkers which excited him more than I expected! Connor received a new Playground game for his DS. Hayley the Babysitter Mania game for her DS; which she opened right away...after about 15 minutes of playing she said, "I don't like this baby, everytime I pick up his mess he makes another mess!" We could only laugh and say "now you know how we feel!" Zack received The Simpsons Game for Wii which of course had to be played right away also.I know gifts cannot fix everything but it sure does feel good to see their glowing smiles for awhile.

Happy Valentine's Day!
